How to Size Up a Hosting Company the Right Way

The funny thing about the internet is that it has made life so much easier and so much harder at the same time.

Now, it’s very easy to see how life became so much easier with the internet. After all, we’re living in the age where, by using your mobile phone or any other kind of mobile device like a tablet, you can order anything from pizzas to snowshoes, to snowboards, to even cars online and have the stuff delivered in, get this, a relatively short period of time. In fact, it’s mind blowing.

For example, when I bought a car, I did price comparisons online, I made bitcoin payment online, and I got my car in two days. Not one week, not three days, not four days, but two days. That’s how fast it was. And I’m talking about the whole car-buying process.

You’ve been there. You know exactly what I’m talking about. You’ve been thinking about getting a new car, so you start thinking about the functions of the car, the kind of features you would love to get from the car, and then you start looking for a provider. And then once you have found the provider, you start looking through their inventory. Once you find their inventory, you then hassle with trying to get the best price.

Now, I’m relating all of this to you because the internet has made buying stuff or services online so much easier. But this also created a tremendous amount of problems because it seems like everybody and their dog wants to help you.

Everybody and their dog want to sell you stuff and want to do services for you. The problem is, we have reached a point in the evolution of the internet where our biggest concern is not freedom of choice or selection. Instead, we are faced with the almost unthinkable problem of freedom from choice.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve come across people who tell me they wish that somebody just jammed a choice down their throats. They may not be happy with it, but they prefer it to the uncertainty they get when they are forced to make a decision on their own.

Most people, deep down inside, are really insecure or suffer from some sort of inferiority complex when it comes to making online decisions because they know they’re not experts. They also know that people are lying to them through their teeth. They know that all sorts of so-called experts have their own hidden agenda.

So, given this reality, a lot of people, somehow, some way, wish that people would slap them around, drag them by the hair and basically force them to choke down on a particular choice so they don’t have to do the heavy lifting themselves.

Of course, the reason why they want to go through this is because when something happens that doesn’t meet their expectations, they get to blame somebody. Well, they don’t have that luxury when they actually made the choice themselves.

But you have to understand that if you want to pick the right hosting company, you have to size them up the right way. And, to cut to the chase, it really all boils down to two things. First, are they an established brand? In other words, does almost everybody know about them? This is the key because a brand is not going to blow up so much and so big if they are not somehow, some way, doing something right.

Second, do they have the infrastructure? Now, there is no shortage of companies talking a big game, okay? Let’s just get that out of the way. There are a lot of companies who try to make it appear to you that they are bigger, more powerful and more distributed than they really are. Well, it turns out that a lot of the times, they are just simply reselling some platform.

So in this context, wouldn’t it make a lot more sense to go straight to the back end company than just buy whatever is put in front of you? In other words, instead of wasting time with the reseller, go to the back and figure out who is providing this service. And if you do this, you are going to be rewarded with a lower price.

This is how you size up the right hosting company the right way so you can get the right decision all day, every day. Doing things any other way will end up with you basically wishing you had freedom from choice so you end up making the wrong decision over and over again.
