Jay and Bruce Cancun Trip October 2004

Jay had a one week vacation from classes the end of October. Margaret decided the fellows needed to get away from Boise. They spent 5 days in Cancun...visited Chichen Itza ruins...snorkled on reef complex at Puerto Morelos (25 km south of Cancun)...spent several days of quality beach time in 80+ degree Caribbean waters.

Our 6th floor balcony overlooking beach

Bouganvilla near bus stop at Cenote (water-filled sinkhole) near Chichen Itza

Vine-covered walls of sinkhole (called a Cenote in Spanish)

At base of main Chichen Itza pyramid

Plaque at entrance to Nacional Archaeologico Monument at Chichen Itza

Top of Chichen Itza pyramid...a machete is required for travel thru tropical vegetation

The steps of Chichen Itza pyramid were VERY steep...Bruce's foot just fits front-to-back on step

Our snorkling trip left from dock at Puerto Morelos

Jay had "re-colored" his hair fall semester
