Welcome to the
A. P. & L.An HO scale layout in Boise, Idaho set in the early 50's featuring steam, early diesel, light and heavy traction. Avery Power and Light Co. provides freight and passenger service between the Milwaukee Road's division point at Avery, Idaho and the surrounding area communities and businesses. AP&L is a fierce competitor of Montana Power Co., competing for the power contract for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad's electrified division from Western Montana into eastern Washington. Avery Power and Light Company
The AP&L is actually two HO scale layouts. The first being a portable display that that depicts the modern and progressive atmosphere of Downtown Avery and it's efficient and prosperous trolley transportation system. This layout finds it's way to various train shows and events. The second is an 12 ft by 24 ft "around the walls" operation that is under construction.
Towns I intend to model along the Milwaukee mainline are Avery, Saint Maries and Plummer Junction. All of which will be "under wire," as on my Milwaukee Railroad, the "Gap" has been filled. Plummer Junction will be an interchange point with the Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway. The S. P. & S. will have trackage rights from Plummer Junction into the A. P. & L. yard at Avery.
