Jeremiah Kimball helped build one of three garrisons in Hopkinton, New Hampshire early in its settlement. It was called "Kimball's Garrison."
His son Abrahm, died from a fall from a barn that he assisted in building.

Spauldings were land owners and farmers. They worked their own farms most generally. Pioneers by nature, the Spauldings were not afraid to up root themselves and to colonize new areas.
They took active part in town government. There are several communities throughout the United States that have been named for their Spaulding settlers.
