Edward I King of England

Edward was a member of the Anjou Plantagenet family.
He subdued the Welsh in 1283 and created the title of "Prince of Wales" for his son. He fought the Scots; and it was he who carried away the great Stone of Scone upon which Scottish Kings had been crowned for hundreds of years. Edward and Eleanor were 3rd cousins; they had 13 children, 6 living to maturity, Edward the heir and five sisters,Eleanor, Joan, Mary Margaret and Elizabeth.
