Obituary of Ellen McPherson: Ellen McPherson was born near Economy, Wayne, Ind., Dec 29, 1865 and departed this life August 3, 1917, age 51 yrs, 7 mo, and 5 days.
She came to Kansas with her parents in Nov 1882. locating near Cecil, where she united with the M.E. Church and has lived a christian life until she was called to the Great Beyond. Ellen's illness began Jan. 15, and on June 27 she suffered a stroke of paralysis. During all her illness she bore her sufferings very patiently. She leaves to mourn her loss 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Saturday at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. West assisted by Rev. Dixon of Edna.
The Rebekah Lodge, of which she was a faithful member attended in a body and had charge of the services at Lake Creek Cemetery.
