Philosophy
This a few words on Our Philosophy in Rogue Spear form one
of the most respected players of the game.

X has been a mystery to mankind since the invention of language. Now the epitome of that enigma, clan "X", has formed and with it a philosophy has been configured. For the first time in a millennium we shall now share, with those interested, the philosophy of X.
If I am to talk about the philosophy of clan X, it would be only just of me to first
explain what a successful clan ought to be. I shall define success as the
obtainment of complete victory over opposing clans in all presented situations. That
defined, I shall now move forward and explain how a clan can come closest to that success.
For any clan desiring success, they must be entirely composed of friends. Friends, as Plato defined it, share all things in common. Thus, if all in the clan share all things in common, there will be no disputes resulting in poor game play and ultimate failure. When friends are together in a clan, the general happiness of the clan will be higher than one with a group of strangers that results in better game play. If one member who is not a friend is allowed into a clan, it will disrupt the efficiency of the clan and will cause it to fail and perhaps break up in time.
Leadership is the next thing any successful clan will need to have. A good leader is composed of many attributes, mainly the following: Wisdom, Temperance, Justice, and Fortitude. I will consider these virtues to be self-evident since I limited to only taking excerpts from the original and much longer philosophy of X. When a leader contains these four virtues he would always put the group ahead of his own will or desires. For a good Shepard knows how to tend his flock for their sake, not his own. And with such tendencies the good leader would be able to understand his men the best and would be able to direct them to victory on the battlefield and would prevent ego trips of any kind off the field, which in many cases have caused the downfalls of many short-termed successful clans.
The final thing a successful clan will need to have above all others is skill. One who is skilled in the art of combat can overcome great obstacles that may present themselves during the course of a battle. Skill is comprised of hand-to-eye coordination, knowledge of tactics and weapons use, and quick reflexes. With these three cardinal skills a clan member can contribute the most to the clans victory on the field of combat.
I have stated the three things required making a successful clan; the one thing I have avoided to discuss is the most deadly of vices that can bring down any clan. Ego. An Ego is desire to self promote oneself on all occasions, usually by insulting the opposition. Not only does ego make one weak by making the egotist underestimate the enemy, it also causes a rift between the egotist and other members in the clan. When egotists constantly self promotes themselves they put their own infatuation with themselves over the clan as a whole. When the egotist decides that they are more important to the clan than the rest of the members jealousy, disharmony, and eventual break up result. An example of an egotist behavior is when the egotist kills 4 people in a match and proclaims to the room "4 for me!" or "You guys suck".
Now that I have summarized what makes a clan a successful one, I shall now explain how X fits into that mold. X is comprised of all friends. That is its core and main driving force. Thus, we shall only allow someone who is a friend into X. For one bad apple can ruin the bunch.
Second, since it would be impossible to find one person who contains all the virtues said above for the good leader, we have assigned different leadership roles to different members depending on skills and talents. Thus we can optimize our overall performance in and off the battlefield.
Finally, to assure that only the best and most skillful players find their way into X, every member in X must approve that the potential member is trustworthy, talented, and can contribute to our overall harmony. This is so, because like we stated above, we only want the best.
If at any time a member grows an ego and no longer contributes to the overall harmony of the group, a clan meeting will be held discuss the matter. And if a member is found to have gained vices that hurt X, he or she shall be removed. Maturity is something learned, not given.
This is only a segment of what X stands for and the philosophy we use, if any questions present themselves within your mind, please feel free to ask more. For the X is a complex thing and can take a lifetime to understand.
