Kodak Vest Pocket Model B, ca. 1910	Kodak Jr. Autographic 2C, 1923	Wollensak Optical Co., 1919	The first “surviving” photographic image was made in 1827 by Joseph Nicephere Niepce, partner of James Louis Manole Daguerre, who first publicized the invention of the daguerreotype in 1839. The museum’s photographic exhibit displays numerous cameras and other equipment including: two daguerreotypes (1860); numerous tintypes (dating from the 1850’s); a Kodak #1 camera (1888); a camera made by the Wollensak Optical Company (1919); a Rainbow Hawkeye camera (1918); and a glass negative (circa 1880).
