Nejwah began studying Middle Eastern Dance in 1976 with local dancer Kalla.
In 1979 she attended Jamila Salimpour's one-week workshop, and has been attending as many workshops as possible since then. She began performing professionally on a regular basis in 1978 and began teaching in 1980.
In 1981, Nejwah started "Bellydance By Nejwah", a service which offers performances for parties and conventions, and "bellygrams" for birthdays and
other occasions. She is the director of Nejwah's Mid-Eastern Dance Troupe, which performs at local festivals and conventions.
