BIOGRAPHY - 2007
Nejwah's World Dance Troupe, formed as Nejwah's Mid-Eastern Dance Troupe in 1983, is comprised of eleven dancers who specialize in authentic,
traditional world dancing.
Their performances offer a variety of family entertainment. In addition to cabaret (belly) dancing, they perform specialty and folk dances from Arabia, Greece, Morocco, Egypt, Persia and Tunisia which demonstrate the mystique, emotion, and fun of Mid-Eastern dancing. Last year they added dances from The Philippines and Tahiti to their repertoire, and this year anticipate adding Latin numbers. The Troupe's 30, 60 or 90-minute shows follow a pattern of changing musical moods. The Troupe uses authentic music and costuming, and cultural and historical information is presented with each dance.
Nejwah's World Dance Troupe has always been very popular with local spectators young and old, as well as audiences in other States. They have frequently been selected as the exclusive representatives
of Mid-Eastern dancing at many festivals in the Northwest.
Nejwah's performances in her 28 years of professional dancing are too numerous to list, however; a partial list of engagements includes:
Rakkasah Festival in Oakland, CA in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2005; Boise Art Museum's Egyptian Exhibit in 2003; St. Chapelle Renaissance Faire in 2003; Idaho Commission on The Arts "Art in the Marketplace" 2003 through

Western Idaho Fair from 1987 through 1996, and again from 2003 through 2006; the Festival of Trees from 1993 through 1998, 2000, and 2006; the Boise River Festival in 1991 and 1992; the Junior League Renaissance

Additionally, members of the Troupe (Nejwah, Il Eyana, Geneva, and Sahra) have been featured weekly at Aladdin's Egyptian Restaurant in Boise for the last twelve years, and from 2000 to 2003 they performed monthly at Sourdough Lil's in McCall.
As the Troupe's Director, Nejwah has performed in the Boise area for over 28 years, and has instructed belly dancing for over 27 years.
She has been an instructor at Arts For Kids for the past thirteen years. In addition to managing the troupe, she owns and operates Belly Dance By Nejwah, a service that offers performances for parties and conventions, and belly grams for birthdays and other occasions; and is the Director of Nejwah's School of Dance. Nejwah is considered by many to be Southwest Idaho's premiere Belly Dancer.
In January of 2006, "Nejwah's School of Dance" opened in their new studio in Boise's Cultural District at 610 South 8th Street.
In addition to offering beginning, intermediate and advanced classes in Bellydance, this new, one-of-a-kind studio offers classes in Ballroom, Salsa, and Capoeira (Brazilian Martial Art).
