Advanced Open Water Scuba Diving Homework and Student Responsibilities

Books and material are available from Omni Divers, prior to the class.

  1. Read the entire yellow folder. Fill in the blanks completely. Sign the yellow folder.

  2. Read the Medical History, "To the Participant", carefully. If any of these items apply to you, we must request that you consult with a physician prior to participating in scuba diving. We will supply you with a PADI Medical Statement and Guidelines for Recreational Scuba Diver's Physician Examination to take to your physician.

  3. Bring in two (2) head and shoulders photographs of yourself, 1 1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches.

  4. View the appropriate video module before coming to each class.

  5. Read the appropriate module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual before coming to each class.
    1. Read the underwater navigator module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    2. Read the deep module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    3. Read the night module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    4. Read the high altitude module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    5. Read the wreck module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.

  6. Fill out the appropriate knowledge review at the end of each module and cut it out of the manual before coming to each class.

    1. Fill out the underwater navigator module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    2. Fill out the deep module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    3. Fill out the night module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    4. Fill out the high altitude module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.
    5. Fill out the wreck module in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual.

  7. Turn in the completed knowledge review at the beginning of each class.

  8. Bring your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual and your PADI Recreational Dive Planner to all classes.

  9. Get fitted for your wet suit ahead of your Advanced Open Water dives.

  10. Reserve ahead of time, then remember to bring your Gear Required to Scuba Dive for the Advanced Open Water Diver Course to the Advanced Open Water site.

  11. Bring your PADI log book, your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual and PADI Recreational Dive Planner to the Advanced Open Water dive site.

    Advanced Open Water

    Mask, Fins, Snorkel, Boots, 30-lb Weight Belt, THREE Tanks, Bouyancy Compensating Device (BCD), Regulator with Octopus and Submersible Pressure Gauge, De-Fog Solution, Bathing Suit, Towel, Wet Suit Farmer John, Wet Suit Jacket, Hood, Gloves, Tarp to set up and take down your gear, PADI Log Book, PADI Advanced Diver Manual and PADI Recreational Dive Planner, Compass and a High Altitude Slate.
