River Diving is fun, great, exciting, thrilling, swirling, tumbling, fast, calm, cool and wet. A lot of fun is had by all participants.

River Diving Certification

The purpose of the PADI River Diver specialty course is to familiarize divers with the procedures, safety protocols, hazards, risks, benefits and theory of river diving. The training in this course emphasizes the importance of proper procedures to ensure safety and realistically balance the pros and cons of river diving. We encourage elaboration beyond the material in the course materials to accomodate individual student strengths and interests and aspects of river diving unique our or your local environment. Visiting divers can easily complete the training over a period of two days.

River Diving Prerequisites

Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent (evidence of deep and navigation dives beyond open water).

River Required Coursework

Student training materials for this course consists of an instructor led discussion. During a practical application session students get hands on experience using river diving techniques.

River Required Dives

Upon completion of all academic requirements students will complete two River dives. The emphasis on these dives is on pre-dive planning and proper planning for repetitive river dives. During the actual two dives (minimum) students simply take advantage of the river environment.

River Required Materials

When you enroll in the PADI River Diver course with Omni Divers your fee ($125) will include all instructional fees, Personal Identification Card registration envelope, certification card and various handouts.
